CONROY
Searching for family of John W. CONROY --
reported to have been born in Shelby Co, OH on 17 Apr 1828, I cannot seem
to link him to any of the several CONROY families in the county at that
time. John moved to Mason City, IL, sometime between 1850 - 1860. We have
found Isaac CONROY family members also buried in Mason City, IL. Looking
for links to tie families together. Census records for Ohio do not account
for a Conroy child born in 1828 that could be John W. CONROY.

ANDREWS,
MCDOUGAL,
PEARSON
I am able to locate my 2nd gr grandfather
John McDOUGAL and his family, wife Jane Baker Belt McDougal, and daughters
Laura 12, Pricilla 8, and Cora B 10 mos. old, in the 1880 Census, roll
1066, Sidney Twp. Shelby Co, Ohio. John is listed as 47 and Jane as 31.
Jane had Laura and Pricilla by her previous husband, a man with the last
name of Belt. Cora Belle is my great grandmother who married David Stutsman
PEARSON. John is a big mystery to me. I don't believe he had a long history
in Shelby Co. But I do know he was there in 1880. I also know he was a
Civil War vet, a couple different terms according to his Pension papers.
1st as a Private in Co. E, 2nd W Va. Vols in 1861. 2nd as a Sergent, Co.
G 4th W Va Cav. in 1863. Later was arrested for "disertion" according to
the papers, which John disputed in an attempt to get pension. Papers also
say he married a Mary Jane ANDREWS, Oct 12 1856, Cameron, Ohio. I'd like
to know more about John and his McDougal Lineage.
