Shelby County Democrat, August 23, 1889

Mrs. Christ Shellenbarger, near Jackson Center, who had been twice operated
on for hernia and an abscess in the abdomen was again operated on Monday of
this week.  She did not have strength enough to rally from the exhaustion
caused by her trouble and died Tuesday morning.
