On the 6th day of September, 1865 she was united in marriage to James Rich at *Sidney. To this union was born fourteen children of which six are deceased. Three died in infancy. Those left to mourn her departure are Harley and Grover Rich of Sidney, Walter Rich of Pemberton, William of near Piqua, Bud Rich and Mrs. Ida Millhoff of Piqua, Mrs. Nora Blue of Maplewood, Mrs. Etta Anderson of Columbus, two brothers and one sister, Richard Blue of Pemberton, G. M.. Blue of Lockington and Mrs. Elizabeth Brickler of Kirkwood. James Rich, who is deceased, was a veteran of the Civil War. She had four sons who served in the army, one who served for six years. Those that served their country were Harley, Walter, **George and Clarence. She has twenty-one grand children and eleven great grandchildren. The shadow seems heavy, O Mother, as we walk thru the valley of care; For well do we know that no other can drink of our cup of despair; And yet on the rim of the fountain that is kissed by eternity's claim, hangs the hope reaching high as the mountain, we shall meet you and greet you again. *The marriage was performed and recorded in Champaign County, not in Sidney. **No record found of George Rich. Probably supposed to be Grover. I am searching for records to substantiate either claim and will update later. Karen Kuntz Williams kjwilli5@cox.net
