RICH The Democrat Friday, May 30, 1913 Clarence R. Rich died at Lima Thursday after an illness of about five months. Three weeks ago, he was taken to Lima with great hopes for his recovery, but it seemed as there was no help for him and death came to relieve him of his suffering. Rich was born at Adson, Ohio, November 9, 1886, and died at Lima May 22, 1913, at the age of 26 years, 6 months and 13 days. He was next to the youngest son of Mr. And Mrs. James Rich. He had lived most all his life in Sidney. A few years ago, he enlisted in the 26th U. S. Inf. and served three years. After returning home it seemed as though he like the army and he soon re-enlisted, but being in poor health he was compelled to come home before his time was up. Clarence leaves to mourn his departure a mother, five brothers and four sisters, William, Walter, Harley and Grover Rich, of Sidney, Bud Rich of Piqua, Mrs. Anderson, of Columbus, Mrs. Retter, of Fletcher, Mrs. Millhoff, of Piqua, and Mrs. Rodgers, of Maplewood. His father and one brother preceded him in death. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the home of his brother, Harley Rich, corner of Michigan and Oak Street. A precious one from us is gone, A voice we loved is stilled, A place is vacant in our home, Which never can be filled. Karen Kuntz Williams kjwilli5@cox.net
