Moyer, 84, 309 Hillcrest Court, died Saturday at 5:50 p.m. at Wilson Memorial Hospital. She was born July 25, 1905, in Sidney, daughter of Clement R. and Martha (Frazier) Sargeant. On Jan. 23, 1938, she was married to Herschel Herbert Hill and he died July 16, 1971. On Feb. 22, 1973, she and Otto C. Moyer were married. He died Oct. 19, 1974. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. James (Arlynn) Lyle of Toledo, and two grandchildren. A sister is deceased. Mrs. Moyer was a 1927 graduate of Ohio State University and received a bachelor of arts degree majoring in sociology and English, and had taught in Troy and Sidney high schools from 1926 to 1938. She was a member of the Wilson Memorial Hospital Auxillary where she had contributed over 2000 hours of service; a member of the Shelby County Retired Teachers Association; the Sidney Reading Club; the Panhellenic Bridge Club; and the First Presbyterian church; and a founding member of the American Association of University Women. In 1957 she initiated the caseworker program for the Shelby County Welfare Board now known as Children's Services. She served 20 years on the board of trustees of Amos Memorial Public Library. Services will be held Wednesday noon at the Salm and McGill Funeral Home with the Rev. Guy McIver officiating. Private burial services will be held at Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Memorials may be made to Wilson Memorial Hospice Care or the American Cancer Society.
