JACKSON CENTER-Mrs. Louisa Metz, 81, 504 E. College Ave., died yesterday at 7:15 p.m. at St. Rita's Hospital, Lima, where she had been admitted Friday evening.
The daughter of Solomon and Lena (Brockman) Gross, she was born Oct. 22, 1892 in Jackson Township, Shelby County. On Dec. 25, 1912, she was married to Lewis P. Metz who died July 26, 1946.
Survivors include four children, Mrs. Orvil (Lueta) Elsass, RR 2, Anna, Roy E., RR1, Quincy, Orla A., Jefferson City, Mo., Mrs. Roy (Martha) Shaner, Jackson Center; 16 grandchildren; four sister, Mrs. Emma Kennedy, RR2, Sidney, Mrs. Edna Loffer of DeGraff, Mrs. Hilda Steinke and Miss Paulina Gross, both of Sidney; two brothers, Harry Gross, RR1, Jackson Center and Forest Gross of Sidney. A son, two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
Mrs. Metz was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran church in Montra. Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the church with the Rev. John S. Gast officiating. Burial will be in Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson.
Friends may call at the Van Horn Funeral Home  after noon Thursday. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m. and Friday, at the church from 1p.m. until the hour of services.
