Mrs. Maxson was the widow of David Maxson, who died in 1938. She was born March 30, 1887 in Auglaize County, the daughter of Joseph and Catherine Eisley Mawhorr. She had been a lifelong member of St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed Church. Active in lodge circles, she was a member of the Rebekahs, Ladies of the Golden Eagle, the Spanish American War Veterans Auxiliary and the Disabled American Veterans auxiliary. Survivors include two children, Mrs. E.Jay (Evelyn) Bill of Smithboro, NY; Lawrence Maxson, of Sidney, six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A daughter, Mrs. Ethel Hammerer, is dead. There are three brothers, Frank and William Mawhorr, both of Lima, and Philip Mawhorr, of Mansfield, Ohio. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Kerr Mortuary with Rev. George Sonneborn officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
