Sidney Daily News, July 11, 1961

Mrs. Sophia Catherine Mawhorr, 71, of 336 South Miami Avenue, died at 7:05
a.m. today at her home.  She had been in failing health for two years.

A native of Mercer county, she was born Nov. 29, 1889 to Joseph and Evelyn
Shatto Gahm. She was married Sept. 20, 1913 to Joseph W. Mawhorr, who died
in 1945.

Mrs. Mawhorr belonged to the Methodist Church and the WSCS of that church.

Survivors are a son, James L. Mawhorr, of 340 South Miami Avenue; two
grandchildren, Janice and Dennis Mawhorr, and a sister, Alta Wellbaum, of
Sidney.  Two brothers are deceased.

Rev. R. Wobus will conduct services at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Cromes and
Sons Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Cedar Point Cemetery, Pasco.

Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon and evening and
Thursday until time for services.

Lima News, Nov. 23, 1937

Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Mawhorr, 80, who died at her home on
North West Ave. Sunday evening, will be held in St. Paul's Evangelical
church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.  Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery at
Wapakoneta.
