Baker billybak@erols.com *********************************************************************** Union City Evening Times,Wednesday, March 3, 1938 [Union City, IN] Farmer is killed as his auto collides with Big Four train - David Key is killed at a grade crossing. Sidney, O. --- David Key, 79, was killed at 5 p. m. Tuesday when his automobile was struck by a westbound Big Four passenger train at the Mix crossing, five miles east of Sidney. The body was tossed 150 feet. Key was returning from Sidney to his farm, one and one-half miles from the crossing, at the time of the accident. He visited a daughter, Mrs. Mary Stockstill, in Sidney a half hour earlier. Trainmen recovered the body and brought it to Sidney, where it was taken to the Kerr funeral home. Coroner Harry Elmer returned a verdict of accidental death. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Stockstill and Mrs. Knight Campbell, of Sidney, and Mrs. Louis Ranck, of Cincinnati, and a son, Maurice Key, of Spokane, Wash. Mrs. Key died last November.
