Died on Monday evening, after a long and painful affliction, James HAWK,
aged about sixty-four years. The deceased was for many year a citizen of
Lafayette. His affliction was cancer of the face, which he bore with
Christian fortitude and resignation to the Divine will. He leaves a wife,
one son and many relatives and friends to mourn his loss. Funeral services
were held at the M.E. church on Wednesday, after which the interment.
