Reproduction or re-presentation of copyrighted material will require the permission of the copyright owner. *********************************************************************** File contributed for use by Karen Kuntz Williams kjwilli5@cox.net *********************************************************************** Sidney Daily News Feburary 11, 1921 SIMON DANIELS PASSES AWAY EARLY FRIDAY MORNING Respected Resident Passed Away After an Extended Illness Funeral Monday Morning Simon Daniels, a highly respected resident of Sidney, passed away at his home on South Miami avenue Friday morning after a general failing in health for more than two years when he suffered an attack of the flue. He was aged 72 years six months and thirteen days. He was born in Germany July 28, 1848, and came with his parents to this country when quite a young lad. The family were residents of Fort Loramie, but Mr. Daniels when a young man came to Sidney and learned the blacksmith trade with his brother in law, the late John Heiser. Mr. Daniels followed the blacksmith trade for fifty years in this city, the last place he worked being with Slusser and McLean. On June eighth 1871, he was united in marriage to Barbara Crusey and had he lived a few more months the devoted couple would have celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Six children were born to this union all living. They are Ben, Frank, Fred, and Sam Daniels and Mrs. Charles Williams of this city and Mrs. Ernest Wolf of Dayton.
